Sue transferred £8000 to Gaza today, to add to the £2000 already there. This will first be spent on shoes for children whose families cannot afford them. The cost will be £10 for leather shoes for boys (made in Hebron) and a good deal less for the man made 'leather' shoes for girls. This will allow them to get to school. Later on Adli and his helpers will purchase uniforms and school bags for these children as necessary. The young Palestinian doctors who stayed here this weekend confirmed that this help which the Dove and the Dolphin are giving is very practical and much needed. We have already emphasised that everything we are buying is being made in Palestine so that will do a little bit to help a strangled economy. We wish we could have sent £50,000 and made a bigger difference.
