One terrible crime of millions by the Zionist entity.

Palestinian child seeking aid tortured in Israeli military detention camp

Aug 13, 2025

Ramallah, August 13, 2025 - Israeli forces arbitrarily detained and tortured a Palestinian child from Gaza for 26 days in a military prison camp in southern Israel.

Israeli forces arbitrarily detained and tortured 16-year-old Omar Nizar Mahmoud Asfour for 26 days at Sde Teiman military detention camp, located in southern Israel, after apprehending him near an aid distribution site in Gaza on June 29, according to documentation collected by Defense for Children International - Palestine. Omar was released back to southern Gaza at the Karam Abu Salem crossing on July 24 after enduring solitary confinement, torture, starvation, and deplorable conditions at Sde Teiman.

The memories of my detention plague my nights, and I often awaken to the sound of my own screams, as if I were still confined within those walls,” shared Omar after his release. “The nightmares are relentless; every time I shut my eyes, the same faces and interrogations replay in my mind.”

Israeli forces abducted Omar, transported him outside of Gaza, and subjected him to severe torture for almost a month in violation of international law,” said Ayed Abu Eqtaish, accountability program director at DCIP. “While Omar has been released, he is now trying to survive starvation and genocide like every Palestinian in Gaza. Israeli authorities have blocked access to Palestinian detainees from Gaza in Israeli military camps, and we have no idea how many Palestinian children like Omar are still being tortured in Sde Teiman and elsewhere.”

Omar was seeking aid at an aid distribution site when Israeli soldiers encircled him and other aid-seekers, after opening fire on the crowd. Omar was held at gunpoint by a soldier and forced to search for other aid-seekers nearby to be arrested. Omar and around 34 others were made to remove their clothes, leaving only their underwear, and to discard all their belongings, after which they were taken to an army site where they were made to lie on their stomachs while being inspected. The children were asked to stand and leave, but soldiers prevented Omar from leaving, claiming he was older than 16. Everyone was blindfolded and handcuffed, packed inside a military vehicle, and brought to Hamad Hospital in Rafah, now used by the Israeli military as a military base.

Omar was then interrogated and ordered to provide details of his family and relatives. Dissatisfied with Omar’s responses, the interrogator subjected Omar to torture. Omar was brought to the roof of the building and tied to a rope, where he was left hanging upside down for an extended period. Later, the interrogator released the rope, causing Omar to plummet to the ground, dropping the height of roughly five floors before the rope became taut again, stopping his fall about half a meter (20 inches) above the ground, where he was left suspended for approximately 20 minutes. The torture caused Omar to urinate, as he was left struggling to breathe and suffocating. “
It felt as though I was teetering on the brink of death,” recalled Omar.

Along with six others, Omar endured continuous beatings from Israeli soldiers using batons, sticks, and stun guns before being taken to a military vehicle, piled on top of one another like cargo, and driven to another military camp. After enduring yet another violent interrogation, in which he was stripped, his limbs were tightly bound, beaten, and questioned about any involvement in the October 7 attacks, Omar was taken away and beaten repeatedly on the journey to Sde Teiman camp.

Upon arrival at Sde Teiman prison, Omar was given a set of clothes to wear - the only clothes he would wear for the next 25 days. Omar was then blindfolded, isolated and confined in a cage, measuring about one square meter (3.28 x 3.28 feet) for three days.

I was blindfolded and handcuffed, unable to see anyone or stretch my legs within that cramped space.”

After enduring three days of solitary confinement, Israeli forces moved Omar to “Section C,” which Palestinian detainees referred to as the “Hell Section.” For four days, Israeli forces unleashed brutal beatings, electric shocks, stress positions, and other forms of torture on Omar.

Throughout the day, I was handcuffed and not allowed to sleep, sit, or change my position.” At night, Israeli forces would storm the section, assaulting sleeping detainees. Omar was allowed to rest only until 2 a.m., and just half an hour later, at 2:30 a.m., Israeli forces would use stun grenades to ensure no one could rest while subjecting Omar to brutal beatings. The assaults often continued until 4 a.m., after which Omar would try to rest until 5 a.m. This routine was relentless, making it impossible for him to sleep during his detention.

Subsequently, Omar was interrogated for an entire week, during which the interrogator displayed images of his family, including explicit pictures of family members. If his answers did not satisfy the interrogator, he was beaten. For the following week, Omar was kept in the “Disco Room,” a cage-like room that played extremely loud and chaotic music, where Omar endured constant headaches every morning and evening.

Throughout Omar’s detention, Israeli soldiers deprived him of sufficient food, medical attention, and clean water. “Everything that was inedible was provided to us by soldiers during lunch,“ recalled Omar.Occasionally, they served spoiled eggs and rotten peas for dinner. All the prisoners consumed this food against their will, as there were no other options available. If you refused to eat, soldiers would beat you. I witnessed death on more than one occasion. The water we were given was bathroom water, as there was no access to fresh water, which caused me to faint multiple times.”

From the moment Omar entered the prison, he did not see daylight, nor was he allowed to freely practice his religion, often being struck when he attempted to pray. Abhorrent sanitary conditions, the overwhelming presence of mosquitoes, and being prevented from washing left Omar suffering from multiple skin ailments, including scabies.

The environment was unbearably hot, surrounded by red spotlights that radiated heat, exacerbated by the sweltering summer temperatures. We were also not allowed to remain in the bathroom for more than a minute; exceeding this time would trigger a warning bell, prompting a soldier to come and administer punishment.”

Omar was never formally charged with a crime and was subjected to extrajudicial, arbitrary detention by Israeli forces. He was never brought before a court or allowed to meet with a legal professional, and was prohibited from meeting with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

At 16, Omar has endured unimaginable torture and lifelong trauma. “Since the moment I was released, I have been waking up in a state of fear. My sleep is shallow and fragmented, leaving me unfamiliar with the sensation of true rest. Insomnia is a silent killer, and the exhaustion I feel is not merely physical; it penetrates my very soul, as if the ordeal of detention has merely transformed rather than concluded.”

Torture, the deprivation of a fair and regular trial, and unlawful confinement of a protected person are not only blatant war crimes, but are considered grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute. Israel, as a State party to the Convention against Torture, is legally obligated to prevent, investigate, and prosecute such acts. Instead, its forces continue to carry out systematic torture of Palestinian children with complete impunity. The ongoing failure of the international community to hold Israeli officials accountable enables the continued assault on Palestinian children’s rights, safety, and dignity. Under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Israel is further obligated to ensure that no child is subjected to arbitrary detention or unlawful deprivation of liberty, and that every detained child is treated with respect for their inherent dignity.

Instead of upholding these legal commitments, Israeli forces continue to carry out the systematic torture and ill-treatment of Palestinian children with complete impunity. The ongoing failure of the international community to hold Israeli officials accountable enables the continued assault on Palestinian children’s rights, safety, and dignity.

I add this -

The case of Omar Nizar Mahmoud Asfour aged 16. A resident in the long term concentration camp called Gaza.
Tortured so terribly like many, many thousands of his fellow country people. A crime of the greatest magnitude.

Nuremberg 2 must be set up immediately, and the long list of 'war criminals' like SIR Anthony Charles Lynton Blair KC must be held to account. That they have not been held to account since WW2 is why the greatest depths of evil are being reached. Many of these war criminals are allied with the Zionist entity - as is Blair. For instance, his 'foundation' is concentrating on 'AI' with no mention of the holocaust in Gaza, grafted on to a long genocide started formally 77 years ago.

This is posted on this web site because the web master of my general website is on a well deserved holiday. The account below was received by me last evening from Ayed Abu Eqtaish of Defence for Children International - Palestine. DCI - Palestine listen to the children who survive. Over 50,000 in Gaza have not.
